The pandemic creates conditions for a 9% growth in the Textile & Apparel sector

Overall, year 2021 has been a profitable year for the Textile & Apparel industry. According to Statistics Mauritius, during year 2021, exports increased by +22.2% for “Textile yarns, fabrics, made-up articles” and by +12.3% for “Articles of apparel & clothing accessories”. As per National Account Estimates published in September 2022, the growth rate of “Textile manufacturing” for year 2022 will stabilise at “2.9%, after a growth of 8.9% in 2021.”
